Seiko Captain Willard 6106-8119

This is the Seiko 6105-8119 "Captain Willard". The Willard is famous for sitting on the wrist of Martin Sheen during the filming of “Apocalypse Now”, with the Willard being the watch as choice as it was one of the most popular watches worn by U.S. service members during the Vietnam War.

This watch in particular shows no signs of being repolished, has just had a full overhaul and comes on a brand new topic style strap as it likely would have been worn on back in the ‘70s. The tritium lume doesn’t show many signs of age, and has minimal black rot or scratches. The original bezel insert is very crisp for its age. Crystal has been replaced with a 6105-correct Seiko Hardlex crystal and has no major scratches.
