Grand Seiko "Mt. Iwate" SBGJ201
Grand Seiko "Mt. Iwate" SBGJ201
The Grand Seiko 44GS is one of their most historic models, debuting in 1967 and being the pinnacle of what Seiko calls their "Grammar of Design", a set of design principles made by Seiko designer Taro Tanaka. The 44GS wasn't the first watch to use the design language, although it is seen as the perfect example of it, inspiring basically every Grand Seiko to come after. With the inward sloping bezel and case, the case deceives the eye with a blend of sharp edges yet smooth sloping lines. It is truly a work of art. This modern version pairs the 44GS case with a beautiful textured dial and modern a Hi-beat movement with a GMT complication.
This particular example is in excellent condition, and was only worn a handful of times by the previous owner. It shows extremely minimal scratches on the case and bracelet, with the clasp being the only area with scratches visible at a glance. It comes with full box and papers from 2020, completing this set and allowing it to be an excellent addition to any collection.
